Construction of 150,000 residential units in worn-out context

The Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development of Iran said: Considering the capacity that exists in the areas of urban regeneration, 150,000 residential units should be built annually in the form of the National Housing Movement Plan in worn-out and underprivileged contexts.

According to Saba Naft report, quoted by ISNA, Mohammad Ayini said at the meeting of the sustainable regeneration headquarters of Hamedan province on Sunday, December 26: Hamedan’s past performance in terms of renovation in the range of worn-out structures is several thousand units, and in order to return to the high volume that is considered We need to work hard in this field.

Pointing out that the renovation of worn-out structures cannot be done without the presence of the people, he clarified: the owner and the builder are two sides of this story, and in order for the owner to be willing to invest in these areas, we must consider his expectations.

Saying that if mass builders don’t join this work, we won’t have any success, Ayini said: the builder of this area doesn’t need many facilities and for example, 353 units were built in the country, of which only about 100 units received facilities.

The CEO of Iran’s Urban Regeneration Company considered the long-term issuance of building permits to be a fundamental problem and stated: In 2019, a record of 90,000 units was set in the country, and currently, 150,000 residential units should be built in the form of the National Housing Movement Plan in dilapidated and low-income areas. be made available
